Xtax was founded in 2003 by Jon Sadler, following 12 years of experience at HMRC. Jon specialises in Personal Tax and property issues. Xtax has built an experienced team of professionals, here to serve all of your accountancy needs in Newmarket and surrounding. All of the Xtax team are highly competent, experienced, professional and friendly. With our combined experiences, you can be assured that your accountancy needs are in safe hands.

Meet The Xtax Team
Our team are professional, experienced and friendly. We are here to support you every step of the way.
Jon set up Xtax in 2003, following 12 years of experience at HMRC. Jon has a wealth of knowledge in personal taxation, tax planning and capital gains issues. Jon also has extensive experience in assisting clients with both residential and commercial property/land purchases. Outside of work, he likes to get out on the golf course and enjoys running.
Jonathon Sadler – Director
Corinne joined Xtax in 2008 after 20 years of experience at HMRC. ‘Corinne deals with all aspects of payroll/auto enrolment pensions, VAT and the Construction Industry Scheme. She enjoys holidays and yoga/pilates practice.

Louise qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2008, after completing her training with an Accountancy practice in Cambridge. Louise joined XTax in 2011 and specialises working with corporate clients. Louise enjoys spending time with her young family, shopping and socialising.
Louise Kennedy – Accountant
Andy has been a management accountant for over 30 years and has hands-on experience of day to day bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and preparation of management accounts. Outside of work, Andy is a keen season ticket holder at Norwich City.
Andrew Gibson – Accountant
Anthony is CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualified and joined the Xtax team in 2012. Ant works with corporate and self-employed clients. Ant has a keen interest in cycling and golf outside of work.

Rebecca Fay – Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA)
Emily joined the team in August 22 after finishing college with excellent A level results. As well as dealing with all financial aspects of running our office, she is Jon’s right hand woman and deals with anything that comes her way! Emily is an avid Spurs fan and goes to matches whenever she can. She also has a passion for F1 motor racing and enjoys catching up with family and friends.
Emily Diss – Finance Assistant
The latest addition to the team Brian Smith has a wealth of experience in all aspects of accounting, business advice, and cross border taxation. Brian has a Business Studies honors degree (British), majoring in accounting and marketing, with a wide range of experience, over 30 years, in the manufacturing, engineering, and project management sectors in Europe, UK, Ireland, Denmark, USA, and Japan. Most recently returned from a 13-year working sojourn in South Africa. Brian works closely with start-up and growth companies and specializes in due diligence, business valuation, business plan writing, presentation to investors, and post-investment management of financial reporting. Outside of work Brian plays hockey, enjoys cycling, reading, and learning.
Brian Smith
Jo is a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) with over 20 years of experience working in both practice and industry (Oil & Gas and Pharmaceuticals). More recently, Jo has studied for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), gaining a distinction grade. Jo joined Xtax in 2018 and specialises in working with small companies. Free time is mostly taken up with her 2 young children, but hobbies include yoga, going to the gym and a spot of shopping!
Jo Cosgrove – Accountant
Marie has over 20 years’ experience as a tax accountant and became a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in 2002. She is also a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. She specialises in preparing accounts and tax returns for individuals, self-employed, landlords, trusts and estates. Marie loves to travel and tries to go to new destinations whenever possible. In her spare time, she enjoys trying out new recipes in the kitchen and socialising with friends.
Marie – Accountant
Daniela started her accountancy training in 2017 and became a fully qualified AAT accountant in 2021. She joined Xtax in 2022, after gaining experience working for an accountancy practice for the last 3 years.
Daniela has experience in preparing company and sole trader accounts and tax returns, as well as bookkeeping, VAT returns and payroll. In her free time Daniela enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.
Daniela Pirola – Accountant
We have a great relationship with the staff at Xtax and often refer our landlord clients to them, confident in the knowledge that they will handle their affairs efficiently and professionally. We have worked with Jon on several large land transactions and his knowledge proved invaluable in the recent sale of a £2million development, however he is more than happy to assist in the smaller projects, such as homeowners selling off part of their garden for redevelopment.
